A Taste of Home, Born in Berlin
Food has always been more than just nourishment — it’s a story, a memory, and a feeling.
For Kalyani, the founder of Kalyani’s Kitchen UG, every dish tells the story of my childhood in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu — of early mornings filled with the aroma of roasted spices, of watching my mother grind masalas by hand, and of family gatherings where food was love in its purest form.
Those moments shaped my understanding of what good food truly means: honest, home-cooked, and made with care.
When I moved to Berlin, I carried those memories with me — along with my spice box and a deep craving for authentic Chettinad flavors. But I soon realized that while Berlin offered global cuisines, the taste of her home — fiery, aromatic, soulful Tamil food — is missing.
So I decided to bring it here.
The Beginning of Kalyani’s Kitchen
What started as a small effort to cook traditional meals for friends quickly grew into something more. Word spread. People fell in love with her Chettinad curries, pepper chicken, and Chettinad Snacks — dishes that reminded many of home and introduced others to the magic Chettinad cuisine.
Soon, I realized that my kitchen wasn’t just feeding people — it was creating connections.
That’s when Kalyani’s Kitchen took shape: a place dedicated to sharing authentic Chettinad food, made with love and delivered with warmth.
No fancy restaurant front, no unnecessary fuss — just pure food made with heart.
